Well, not so many anyway  – and you’re not likely to meet them.

Young Saigon

About 70% of the population of Vietnam was born AFTER the Vietnam (American) War ended!

That means nearly everyone you’ll encounter is in their 30’s or 20’s or younger!  And since the “opening” of the economy (called “doi noi”) just 25 years ago, virtually everyone has become an individual entrepreneur seeking to climb out of poverty into the newly emerging Vietnamese middle-class – or at least to bask in the trappings of western success – i-Phones, cruising, and nightclubs .

As a visitor, carry an iPhone “Made in USA” and become an instant icon.

Be a single American male of any age or appearance and count on several marriage proposals during your stay.

Leave your hotel room at 11 pm and step into streets jammed with motorbikes with youths on their way to/from cafes, karaoke, and late-night dinners on the streets.

Truly an exhilarating place to be at any time or any age!
