Without doubt Bac Hai is my favorite neighborhood in Saigon. For me personally, Bac Hai has it all!

The streets of Bac Hai
It sits within a minute’s walk from Le Thi Rieng Park.

Cafes Everywhere!
It’s filled with scores of cafes where you can enjoy your morning coffee.
It sits beside a sports complex with perhaps Saigon’s best Olympic-size swimming pool where 50-meter laps seem not so far.
There’s a street here dedicated only to making and serving excellent fresh fruit shakes!

There’s a smattering of good eateries, small grocery markets, and fresh fruit and vegetable stands.
I can get my haircut and ears cleaned here (this is surely another blog entry – please stand-by) for under 50,000 vnd ($2.50 USD).

The welcoming shady streets of the Bac Hai neighborhood
And all of this sits along small tree-shaded quiet streets – a rarity in Saigon. So, give yourself a treat and find your way to Bac Hai one day while you’re in Saigon.
