Spiders … Everywhere!
But, relax. The hanging, creepy things are just part of the decor here at Cafe Nhen. A brightly colored webbed theme entirely entangles this small one-room cafe.
Have a seat (on the floor), sip some good Vietnamese coffee, and possibly enjoy some good music.
My friend, Toan, invited me to this small neighborhood coffee house where the young patrons gather and listen to up-and-coming local musicians test run their talents. It turns out that Toan performs here on occasion to strum his guitar and share his beautiful mellow voice, usually singing Vietnamese ballads, but adding a few Western classics.
There was no music during our morning visit, but the coffee was good, the air conditioning was ON, and Toan and I enjoyed a few hours discussing the state of Vietnam and the world, sitting on our floor pillows.
Cafe Nhen is simple. No, very simple. Definitely NOT your typical Saigon tourist coffee house. Definitely worth a visit for a unique, local experience – particularly if you can catch one of the young local artists offering his or her talents.
