We’re on Week #4 now of our post-Covid return to Saigon. We’ve been racing from Saigon street food vendor to Saigon street food vendor, and then onto Saigon’s small neighborhood restaurants, & back again … eating as fast as we can … and racking up the extra belly kilograms as we go. All, of course, in the name of research in support Eating Saigon!’s readers.
I was all ready to enjoy some Xôi Kem (sticky rice with ice cream). Imagine my disappointment when I walked down the small alley to find Trop B closed and out of business. SO VERY SAD.
This is Hai’s restaurant. Or was. Now it’s being managed by his younger brother. The food is still very good – particularly the cá kho tộ. (BUT, I must be honest – it’s no longer “Hai’s home-cooking”.)
I still can’t decide whether I love the food or the artwork more in this hidden gem of a small Saigon restaurant. It continues to serve great food of central Vietnam (Huế area) and to display beautiful Vietnamese art.
Looks absolutely delicious! I hope some of these dishes will be on the tuesday menus!
That is a seriously rough job to eat so much good food, but someone has to do it!
Agreed … we do it all for Eating Saigon! readers. 🙂
